02/20/1956-CC-Minutes-RegularThe City Council met in regular session on the above date those
presents were Mayor Pro®tem Acker, Councilmen Johnson, Cooper,
Spratt, and Seely. Mayor Wilson bd ng absent. Guest were Fire Chief
.Alvin Brown and a Mr. Toby of the Fire .Appliance Co.
The minutes of the previous meeting was read and approved.
Ivlr. Toby of the Fire Appliance Coe of Texas of Wichita Falls,
Texas gave the Council a look at his Fire hose, he also submitted
the lowest price that the City had on Fire Hose. A motion by
Cooper to buy 1000 ft. of 2111 hose, 1�00 ft. of 1 L11 hose and one
1111 fog nozzle at a price of tt1.50 per ft. for the 21 hose, 111010
per ft. for the 12" hose, and fl16.20 for a 1291 fog nozzle with a
2"cash discount if payed by the lst meeting night after receiving
the hose and also he gave the City a 2?" fog nozzle free of charge.
The motion was seconded by Johnson, motion carried. The total price
for this was 11,986.20 less the 2% cash discount.
Discussion teas given on the nPw highway 77 that would cross the
Bolivar highway, and also about a new houseing addition in the
West part of town.
A motion by Spratt, seconded by Cooper to pass an election ordinance
to elect two councilmen for the places of Acker and Johnson, this
motion carried. The ordiance reads as follows,*
EIa`��CTION ORDINANCE, '
An election is hereby called to be held in the City Hall of the
City of Sanger, Texas, on the first Tuesday in April 1956,
same being the 3rd day of April 1956 for the purpose of electing
two councilmen, these places caused by the expiration terms of
E. M. ,Acker, and Fred Johnson. .All candidates who wish to run and
have their names printed on the official ballot will submit their
names and fill out an apnlictition in the City Office with the
City Secretary on or before March 3, 19560 Le Lie MCNe`ll is
appointed as elction XX judge. This ordinance was assed on the

Discussion was niiven on buying a spare governor for the plant in
case of an emergency. A motion by Johnee . and seconded by Seely to
buy a spare governor for the Enterprise engines, Cost being )730.00
F.O.B. Rockford Ill. Motion Carried.
The Secretary was to write some tank company about repairing
the water tows-r that is now leaking water®
