The City Council met in regular session on the above date
those present were Mayor Wilson, Councilmen Spratt, Cooper,
Seely, Acker, and W; nd.le.
The minutes of the previous meeting was read and approved.
Mr. Nunnely of the Sanger Telephone Co. met with the Council
wanted the Counci_1 to give to the Telephone Co. free contact on
the City's poles on the Valley View power line to the County
line. He stated that the Telex h-r e company had an exclusive
permit to build a telephone line on the east side of the new
Highway ?7 from Sanger to the County line. The City was to look
into this before giveing Mr. Nunnely an answer to your request.
A street light wr s to be put up by Mr. Jeff Flowers and I Zrs
Lou Moore's house on the highway.
A rnotian by Spratt, seconded. by Acker to pass an election ordinance to elect
a Mayor and three Councilmen for the places of HD COOPER, ROY SPRATT, AND ART SEELY
AND THE EXPIRATION TER OF THE MAYOR TC WILSON
This motion carried and the
ordinace was passed.,The ordinance reads as follows®
ELECTION ORDINANCE
An election is, hereby called to be held in the City Hall of the
City of Sanger, Texas, on the first Tuesday in April 1957, same
being the 2nd day of April 1957 for the purpose of electing
three councilman, and a Mayor, these places caused b1T the ex®
piration terms of H. D. Cooper, Roy Spratt, and Art Seely, and
the expiration term of the mayor T. C. Wilson. All Candidates who
wish to run and have their names printed on the official ballot.
will submit their names and fill out an application in the City
Office with the City Secretary on or before March 2, 1957.
Scott Gober was appointed as election judge by a motion by Acker,
seconded by Cooper motion carried.
The old poles taken down from the Valley View line will be
kept by the City.
A representative from the Addressing Machine Service Co. dem
ostrative an adressograph machine to the council.
A motion by Cooper, seconded by Sp7ghtt to adjourn, motion
carried.
