Call Meeting to Order. 2. Approve Minutes. 3. Conduct Public Hearing to Consider a Variance Request on property located at 208 Walnut, legal description being Block 12, (100 Ft of W 61 Ft) in the Hampton Addition. 4. Consider and Possible Action Regarding a Variance Request on property located at 208 Walnut, legal description being Block 12, (100 Ft of W 61 Ft) in the Hampton Addition. 6. Any Other Such Matters. (Please note that this was originally scheduled for May 2, 1996 -but we did not have a quorum... your attendance will be greatly appreciated) MINUTES: Board of Adjustment April 11, 1996 PRESENT: Fred Yeatts, Francile Sullivan, Allen Sweeney, Ben Weatherall OTHERS PRESENT: City Administrator Larry Keesler, City Secretary Rosalie Chavez, Richard Testa 1. Chairperson Fred Yeatts Called the Meeting to Order. 2. Conduct Public Hearing to Consider a Variance Request on property located at 612 N. 3rd, legal description being Lot 2, Block 45, Original Town, Chairperson Yeatts declared Public Hearing opened. Richard Testa, who was requesting the variance for the Lady of Fatima church provided the board with plans on the expansion to their existing church building. There were issues discussed concerning easements and the setback variances. Mr. Weatherall indicated that the church actually needed setback variances on both pieces of property. Mr. Weatherall did express concern as to .whether property owners had been officially notified if it involved the second lot. City Secretary Rosalie Chavez indicated that when Mr. Testa requested the variance it was impled he needed the variance on Lot 2. There could have been some misunderstanding concerning the request, however, the church does own the property, which is the entire Block. Discussion continued. Chairperson Yeatts declared Public Hearing closed.. 3. Consider and Possible Action Regarding a Variance Request on property located at 612 N. 3rd, legal description being Lot 2, Block 45, Original Town. Motion was made by Allen Sweeney to grant Variance Request on property located at 612 N. 3rd, Block 45, Original Town. Seconded by Francile Sullivan. Motion Carried unanimously. 4. Chairperson Fred Yeatts declared Public Hearing opened. Mary Hendricks addressed the Board and advised that the reason for the request was for her mother Mrs. Vaughn. She indicated that during the bad weather it is difficult to take her to the doctor and protect her from the weather conditions as Mrs. Vaughn is on a walker. Motion was made by Allen Sweeney that the request on property at 903 Austin be approved with the stipulation that the carport is at least 5 feet from the curb which is the standard requirement. City Administrator John Hamilton, City Secretary Rosalie Chavez 1. Chairperson Fred Yeatts called meeting to order. 2. Conduct Public Hearing to Consider Variance Request for Abstract 29, R. Bebee, Tract 132, 4.00 Acres (207 Chapman) Chairperson Yeatts declared Public Hearing open. City Administrator John Hamilton addressed this issue and stated that Ronny Beard is requesting a Set -Back Variance on his property north of FM 455 between 3rd Street and 2nd Street in order to construct a boat storage facility. The area is Zone I4 and the boat storage facility is an approved use. Staff recommends approval. Brief discussion. 3. Consider and Possible Action regarding Variance Request for Abstract 29, R. Bebee, Tract 132, 4.00 Acres (207 Chapman} Motion was made by Betty Jenkins to approve Variance Request for Abstract 29, R. Box 578 Sanger, TX 76266 Dear Board Members: We wish to request a variance in order to add a front porch to our home at 208 Walnut, Hampton Addition, Block 12, (S 100' of W 61). The variance request is to modify the 25' setback to a 15' setback. The new setback distance would be greater than the distance from Walnut Street to either the house to the North or South of ours. The porch would be an open porch with a gabled roof in a style appropriate to the neighborhood. Copies of the Contractor's sketch and copy of the Central Appraisal District's plat map are enclosed.
