Riotion was made by Cooper and seconded By Spratt that the City a tart a fund for prize money to Fire Department members on the basis of presence at meetings, in the amount of $25.00. Motion carried. Riotion carried. vo s' Ci Secre ary A9ayoir ORDINANCE N0. 1961-1 AN ORDINANCE FIXING AND ESTABLISHING THE PRIRIA FACIE SPEED LIMITS FOR VEHICLES, UPON THE BASIS OF AN ENGINEERING AND TRAFFIC INVESTIGATION, AND ESTABLISHING SPEED ZONES, ON FARM TO MARKET ROAD NOe 4550 WITHIN THE CORPORATE LIMITS OF THE CITY OF SAN ER, TEXAS, AS SET OUT IN THIS ORDINANCE, PROVIDING THAT VIOLATION OF TIIS ORDINANCE SHALL CONSTITUTE A MISDEMEANOR, AND PROVIDIN G A PENALTY UPON CONVICTION OF A FINE NOT TO EXCEED $$200.00 FOR VIOLATION OF SAID ORDINANCE. FVIiEItEAS, Section S of Article S27a, Vernon's Penal Code of the Mate of Texas, provides that whenever the governing body of the City shall determine upon the basis of an engineering andiraffic investigations a reasonablb and safe prima facie. speed limit upon the streets and highways of the City, taking into consideration the width and condition of the pavement and other circumstances on said streets and highways, as well as the usual traffic thereon, the governing body of said City may decUre said reasonable and safe prima facie speed limit thereon by the passage of en ordinance, which shall be effective when appropriate signs giving notice thereof are erected on said streets and highways; Now, therefore: BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF `c'HE CITY OF SANGER, TEXAS:
