The City Council met in regular session r-t th Mayor Lewis , and
Councilmen Pate, Gentle, Acker, Cooper present.
Minutes were read and approved.
Mayor Lewis made a report on the mightwatchman situation.
Motion was made by Acker and seconded by Gentle that Jeff Ford
be hired as assistant city marshall and patrolman with. the same
salary of $160.00 plus $10.00 for looking after the fire department.
Motion carried.,
City Attorney Sullivan reported on the Secretary situ&tion andread
.resolution concerning the legal. aspect. This resolution ift
entered in the minute book on this page.
Motion was made by Acker to adopt the rerlution as presented by
Sullivan, and was seconded by Pate. Motion carried.
Bill Carter met with the Council to discuss the problem of drinkm
my in public places and disturbance on the streets.
Attorney Sullivan was authorized to get in touch with the
Municipal League as to the validity of passing an ordinance
concerning this problem.
Motion was made by Cooper and seconded by Acker to pay Willard
Bounds for painting the building. Motion carried.

WHEREAS, Ray,McClendon, the City Secretary of the City
of Sanger, Texas, is now disabled by illness' from,. -performing
his official duties, and itis necessary that authorization be
given for the performance of the official duties of said office
of City Secretary by some other person during the period of
.his official duties, and it. is necessary that authorization be
given for the performance of the. offici�el duties of said office

• disability of the said Ray McClendon; NOW THEREFORE, .

.of Ray McClendon as City Secretary -of the said City of Sanger,
Texas, he is hereby granted official sick leave from his duties•
as City Secretary, with full pay, due to his disability, pending
further action by the City Council.

That Miss Winnie Seal shall be and she is hereby appointed
as Assistant City Secretary .and Acting City Secretary of.the
City of Sanger, Texas, and she is expressly empowered and .
authorized to co-sign, in her official capacity of Acting (�`ity'
Secretary, together with the' countersignature of the Mayor of
the City of Sangeri Texas, checks drawn on the official
City Depositary Bank, the First National Bank. of Sanger, Sanger,
Texas, ,,in payment off' approved bills of the � City of Sanger, Texas,
retroactive to the date of disability of the said Ray McClendon,
and 'pending further action of the City Council, and said Bank is
authorize d to honor said ahecks�so drawn by�said Acting City '
