Aiotion was made by Gentle and seconded by Acker to have die hearing April 15, 1969. Motion carried. / Adjournment. F City Secretary April 7, 1969 The City Council met in regular sesaioa to canvas the ballots of the City Election held on April 5,,1969 and the results were as follows: Mayor C. F. Johnson 186 C. H. Easley 46 Alderman Mrs. T. W. McDaniel 149 H. D. Cooper 81 J. C. Landers 37 Airs. J. M. Sims Jr. 77 A. L. Johnson 107 B. E. Gentle 104 Norman Cook 122 Mr. C. F. Johnson was elected mayor and Airs. Alton L. Johnson were elected alderman. Minutes of the previous meetings were read and ap7r®ved. The Council met with Mr. Sturdivant of Brazos, John L. Sullivan, City Attorney, and Messrs. Hortzman and Elmore of Westinghouse to open bids on electrical equipment at the plant switch board. Westinghouse Electric Sup,ly had the low and complete bid of 12,309,71, Motion was made by Acker and seconded by Ready to accept this bid. Motion carried. Present were Mayor Johnson, and Councilmen Cook, AcDaniel, Johnson, and Beady. Couneilman,Acker was absent. Purpose of the weeting was a hearing on rezoning of Block 3 in the Hughes Addition bounded on the south by Hughes Street, on the West by IP Street,, on the North by Waide Herd and the Airs. Tatum property, and on the East by an alley. Motion was made by Ready and seconded'by Cook to accept the recommendation of the Zoning Commission to chaigefrom single�� dwelling to double family dwelling. Motion carried. The Council discussed the purchase of a new billing machine and Motion was made by Johnson and seconded by Cook to get the machine through the bank.
