Virgil Ward Jr. Addition,
Water Supt. Bowman advised the council of the necessity of install
ing 6301 of 6" water line and 240' of O" sewer line to serve the
addition. Motion was made by Cook and seconded by Johnson to lay
the lines. Motion carried. Air. Ward told the council that he
would start immediately to lay the 6" water and 8" sewer line
to seeve the entire addition.
A�ayor Cornell briefed the council of the progress made by Mr. Coffey
in his effort to assist the city in providing water for future.
The Secretary is to talk to the City of Denton concerning Sanger
participation in the Aubrey Lake.

`i'heCity Council met in regular session with the Alayor Cornell and the
following councilmen: Cook, Johnson, Enlow, & Hall and Councilwoman
AlcDaniel present.
Aiinutes of the previous meeting were read and approved.
City Secretary Schafer advised the council that Mrs. Homer Riley, repre�
renting the PTA asked the city council to take necessary action to relieve
traffic congestion on Willow Street to the football park and 100 St.
mornings, evenings and at the football games. After considerable dis®
cussion the council asked tie street department to explore the possibility
of widening 10 St. to relieve the situation.
The Secretary advised the council that �.he Texas State Water k:u',lity
Board had not yet released the Sanger sewer treatment plant plans for bids®
Air. Robert Courtney met with the council and discussed the sewer and water
lines for sae Ward Addit,yion. Alayor Cornell asked A4r. Courtney to ,ob®
Lain ordinances from bhe cities of Denton and Lewisville covering new
additions and development of new additions.
Constable -C. C. Carter asked the council to hire Jerry Mitchell on a
monthly basis and discontinue using George IvtcCracken. If hired, Mitchell
will be used ixxxIaxx as relief for vacations for dispatchers. Mayor
Cornell will discuss with Mr. Carter and bring to council for a decision.
Two bids were recieved on he Panel Truck published two consecutive times
in the Sanger Courier. Alayor Cornell opened and read the bids.
IIilz Ford Sales, Pilot Point bid on 1 ton 1971,Truckwas $2886.60
Sanger Motor Co Chevrolet 3/ ton Panel Truck bid was $2745.80
After,discussion with the Fire Department personnel concerning specifi-
cations it was decided by the Fire Depat. to accept the bid from Hilz
Ford Sales. Motion was made by Cook and seconded by Ball to accept
the Hi.1z Ford Sales bid. Motion carried.
Mayor Cornell read a letter from Mrs. Eunice Gray, Chairman Friends of
the Librar advisin council of the need for a art time em loyee in

match the city. After discussion the council asked the Secretary
to obtain additional. information from the commissioners concerning
aid before making a decision.
Aiayor Cornell advised the council that the key insurance rate or
1971 would be increased 5%.
The council discussed briefly the Brazos proposal to operate the City
Electric System and will wait until the annual audit is completed
for a decision,

The City Council met in regular session with Mayor Cornell and Counei.l-
men Cook, Johnson, Enlow' & lull and Councilwoman McDaniel present.
Aiinutes of the previous meeting were read and approved.
Secretary Schafer advised the council that ATr. harry would start the
property evaluation for tax purposes Wednesdays and that the city map
should be completed in time for tax use. Mayor Cornell suggested
and council approved the purchase of twenty five large maps.
The Mayor asked the council to name personnel to serve on the equali-
zation board and bring to the next regular meeting. Each councilman
was furneshed with the subdivision rules and regulations of the City
of Denton to consider as a future city subdivision guide.
Air. Jaclz Bowman and Air. V. H. Ward, Jr, met with the council to dis-
cuss water and sewer lines for the �'dard Addi-tion. After discussion
Jmotion was made by Cook and seconded by Enlow to replace 630' of 2"
water line (in bad condition) with 6" line, following the city ez-
isti.ng rules of furnishing 100' of 8" sewer line, and assess a fee
of y$75.00 for all future sewer line connections. Motion carried.
Sec. Schafer. advised the council that the city has lost income at
the Simms Apts. by occupants moving out without paying their bills and
suggested that utility depoait be increased from $25.00 to $35.00.
The council agreed to the increase.
Aiayor Cornell and Schafer advised the council oi' the need for an emer-
gency study of the water and sewer s,ystems,'a surface drainage sur-
vey and a location for a new water well Motion was made by McDaniel
and seconded by Cook to obtain cost estimates from,consulting
engineer. Motion carried.
After discussion a request by friends of the Library for $50.00
per month to employ a part-time employee at the library was tabled.
Request by Bill Carter to employ Jerry Mitchell full time was dis-
cussed. The council agreed that Mayor Cornell has authority to hire
personnel and schedule the police patrol to provide maximum pro-
tection for the city.
Motion was mcle by Johnson and seconded by Cook to adjourn. Motion
carried.
