INTENDED TO BE USED FOR HUMAN HABITATION

A PENALTY OF NOT LESS THAN $100.00 NOR MORE
THAN $200.00 FOR VIOLATION OF THIS ORDINANCE;
REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES OR PARTS OF ORDINANCES
IN CONFLICT HEREWITH, AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE
DATE.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Sanger, Texas, has
determined that it is in the best interests of the citizens of
Sanger, Texas, as a police and fire protection measure, and to
promote the public welfare, and upgrade housing standards in the
City of Sanger, Texas, by eliminating the importation of old
houses, buildings, or other structures designed or intended to be
used for human habitation into the City of Sa..nger, Texas, that
the movement of such old houses, buildings, or other structures
designed or intended to be used for human habitation, from any
point outside the City of Sanger, Texas, into the City of Sanger,
Texas, be prohibited; NOW, THEREFORE:
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANGER,
TEXAS, A MUN IC IPAL CORPORATION, THAT
SECTION I.
,__ - MOVEMEIVTT OF CERTAIN RESIDENTIAL BUILDINGS OR STRUCTURES INTO THE
CITY OF SANGER PROHIBITED.
No old or used house, building, or other structure, designed,
or intended to be used for human habitation, shall be permitted to
be moved from any point outside the City Limits of the City of
Sanger, Texas, to any lot within the City Limits of the City of
Sanger, Texas.

SECTION 2 .
ISSUANCE OF MOVING FERMITS2 BUI
UTILITY CONNECTIONS PROHIBITED.
IT1G PERMITS, REPAIR PERMITS, AND
In order to further effectuate the purposes of this
ordinance, it is specifically provided that no moving permit,
building permit, repair permit, certificate of occupancy, or
utility connection shall be issued or made by the City of Sanger,
Texas, authorizing the movement of any old or previously used
house, building, or other structure, designed or intended to be
used for human habitat ion, from any point outside the incorporated
limits of the City of Sanger, Texas, to any lot within the City
of Sanger, Texas, or authorizing any type of construction,
installation, or repair work on any such building or structure
moved in violation of this ordinance, or authorizing the use or
occupancy of any such old house, building, or other structure
moved in violation of this ordinance, for human habitation, and
no utility connections shall be made by the City of Sanger, Texas,
or any other public utility, to any house, building or other
structure moved in violation of this ordinance.
SECTION
30
EXEMPTIONS AND EXCEPTIONS.
This Ordinance shall not apply to or prevent:
(a) The in transit movement of prohibited houses, buildings,
or other structures through the City of Sanger, Texas, PROVIDED
that all required permits are obtained for such movement, and such
movement through the City of Sanger, Texas, is made expeditiously,
and without stopping in the City of Sanger, Texas, except for
emergencies, of an unforeseen nature. No permit for in transit
movement of prohibited houses, buildings, or other structures shall
-- ever be construed in such a manner as to authorize, or permit, any
such prohibited house, building, or other structure to be placed,
deposited, installed, or left on, any lot, or other place within
the City of Sanger, Texas .

(b) The movement of an old or previously used house,
building, or other structure, now authorized to be used for
residential purposes at its present location w ith in the C ity
of Sanger, Texas, from such present location to any other
lot within the City of Sanger, where the relocation of such
structure at the new proposed location is authorized by the
existing zoning laws and other ordinances of the City of
Sanger, Texas, and the laws of the State of Texas, which
movement shall be subject to, and conditioned upon, full
compliance with the existing house moving ordinance of the City
of Sanger, Texas, and all applicable building standards and
(c) The movement of travel trailers, travel vans, and
self-contained motor homes.
(d) The movement of mobile homes, pROV IDID that such
movement is in full compliance with the mobile home ordinance
and other applicable ordinances of the City of Sanger, Texas
pertaining to the movement, location, installation or use of
such mobile home.
SECT ION !� .
REPEALING CLAUSE:
To the extent that it is in c onf 1 is t herewith, the
existing house moving ordinance of the City of Sanger, Texas,
is hereby repealed, and all other ordinances or parts of
ordinances of the City of Sanger, Texas, in conflict herewith,
are 1 ikewise hereby repealed,
SECT ION 5.
PENALTY FOR V IOLAT ION.
Any person violating any provision of this ordinance shall
be guilty of a misdemeanor, and upon conviction, shall be
punished by a f ine of not less than �100.00, nor more than
�200.00.
SECT ION b .
In accordance with the provis ions of Article 1013,
Vernon's Annotated Texas Statutes, the descriptive caption
or title of this ordinance, stating in summary the purpose of
the ordinance, and the penalty for violation thereof, shall
be published one time in The Sanger Courier, the official
newspaper of the City of Sanger, Texas, a weekly paper, which
publication shall be made within ten (10) days from and after
the date of the passage of this Ordinance, and this Ordinance
shall take effect and be in force from and after the publication
thereof, in accordance with said Article 1013, V.A.T.S.
