79-8-Ordinance-Regulations for the Construction of Curbs and Gutters-09/04/1979ORDINANCE NO. 79-8 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 1-20-72 OF THE CITY OF SANGER, TEXAS, PROVIDING FOR THE ESTABLISHMENT OF REGULATIONS FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF CURBS AND GUTTERS IN THE PLAT- TING AND DEVELOPMENT OF SUBDIVISIONS WITHIN THE CITY OF SANGER, TEXAS AND ITS EXTRATERRI- TORIAL JURISDICTION, BY AMENDING ARTICLE 2-6 OF SAID ORDINANCE RELATING TO CURBS AND GUTTER WITHIN SUBDIVISIONS, AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Sanger, Texas, has determined that the existing Article 2-6 of Ordinance No. 1-20-72 of the City of Sanger, Texas, which has heretofore not required the construction of expansion joints to be placed and located in the construction of curbs and gutters within subdivisions, should be amended to authorize the location of such expansion joints as may be approved by the City Council; NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANGER, TEXAS, A MUNICIPAL CORPORATION, HEREBY ORDAINS THAT: SECTION I Article 2-6 of Ordinance No. 1-20-72 of the City of Sanger, Texas, shall be and the same is hereby amended to hereafter read as follows: "ARTICLE 2-6, CURB AND GUTTER" Curb and gutter shall be constructed as a unit with battered curbs not less than six (6) inches in depth and reinforced with three (3) No. 3 bars of reinforcing steel running longitudinally, two (2) in curb section and the third in the gutter section. Concrete shall consist of not less than five (5) sacks of Portland cement per cubic yard and the surface shall be troweled with a steel trowel and finished by brushing transversely with a wet brush. The curb and gutter shad be constructed on a two inch (2") min- imum sand cushion. Expansion joints shall be constructed at a minimum distance of sixty (60') feet between expansion joints with tooled or saw cut joints every twenty (20'1 feet. SECTION 2. EFFECTIVE DATE This ordinance shall take effect, and shall be in full force and effect, from and after the date of its passage. APPROVED this the day,,of A.D. 1979. _ City Attorney
