80-6-Ordinance-Annexing property along IH-35-08/04/1980ORDINANCE NO . 80-6 AN ORDINANCE ANNEXING TO THE CITY OF BANGER, TEXAS, A MUNICIPAL CORPORATION, CERTAIN LANDS SITUATED IN DENTON COUNTY, TEXAS, ADJACENT AND CONTIGUOUS TO THE CITY LIMITS OF BANGER, TEXAS, DESCRIBING SAID ANNEXED TERRITORY BY METES AND BOUNDS, AND PRESCRIBING THE EFFECTIVE DATE OF THIS ORDINANCE. WHEREAS, the hereinafter described territory lies within the extra -territorial jurisdiction of the City of Sanger, Texas, a municipal corporation, as provided by law, and said land, when annexed to the City of Sanger, Texas, taken together with all other land presently within the City Limits of Sanger, Texas, will not exceed authorized territorial limits of the said City of Sanger, Texas, as provided by law, and the City Council of the City of Sanger, Texas, has determined that such annexation is proper and in the best interests of the City of Sanger, Texas, and its inhabitants; NOW, THEREFORE, BE OF BANGER, TEXAS, THAT: IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY SECTIOl`d 1. The hereinafter described territory, lying and being situated in Denton County, Texas, adjacent and contiguous to the incorporated limits of the City of Sanger, Texas, described in two (2) tracts, as follows, to -wit: TRACT N0. 1. (Part of Interstate Highway 35, and a strip of land 500 feet wide on the east side of said IH-35, North of exist- ing City Limits of Sanger, Texas) All that certain tract or parcel of land, lying and being situated in Denton County, Texas, described as follotas: BEGINNING at the most Northerly Northwest corner of existing City Limits of Sanger, Texas, as shown by annexation ordinance passed April, 1977, siad corner being in the east right-of-way line of Interstate Highway 35, THENCE East along the existing most Northerly North bound- ary line of the City Limits of Sanger, Texas, a distance of Sflf1 f ._.r fin?^ nr1r ;?r i n _cZi ri_ i rQ : _ .. _ THENCE North, parallel with, and 500 feet East of, the East right-of-way line of said Interstate Highway No. 35, a distance of 642 feet to a point 500 feet East of the East right-of-way of said IH-35; THENCE West, 500 feet to the East right-of-way line of said Interstate Highway No. 35. THENCE South, with the East right-of-way line of Inter- state Highway 35, a distance of 642 feet, more or less to the Place of Beginning. All that certain tract or parcel of land situated in the Reuben Bebee Survey, Abstract 29, Denton County, Texas, being part of a certain 47.872 acre tract described in a deed from Clear Creek Production Co., Inc., to Don F. Kendall and Robert Lyndon Todd Jr., November 7, 1977, re- corded in Volume 872, Page 624, Deed Records of Said County, and being more particularly described as follows: BEGINNING at a steel pin at a fence corner at the Southwest corner of said 47.872 acre tract on the East right-of-way on the West Boundary Line of said tract 210.0 feet to a steel pin; THENCE N. 1 06' 46" W. with said fence and said right-of- way on the West Boundary Line of said tract 210.0 feet to a steel pin; THENCE N. 88 41' E.622.29 feet to a steel pin; in a creek; THENCE S. 1 06` 46" E. 210.0 feet to a corner in a creek on the South Boundary Line of said 47.872 acre tract; THENCE S. 88 41' W. with a fence 622.29 feet to the place of beginning, containing in all 3.000 acres of land. shall be and the same is hereby annexed to the said City of Sanger, Texas, a municipal corporation, and said land and territory shall hereafter be and constitute a part of the said City of Sanger, Texas, and all present and future inhabitants of said annexed territory shall be subject to all ordinances of said City of Sanger. Texas, now in force or hereafter adopted, and shall have, hold, and possess, all rights, duties, and obligations held and possessed by all other inhabitants of said City of Sanger, Texas, and all taxable property in said annexed area shall bear its pro-rata part of all taxes levied, assessed, and collected by said City of Sanger, Texas.
