AN ORDINANCE FIXING AND ESTABLISHIGN THE PRIMA FACIE
SPEED LIMITS FOR VEHICLES, UPON = BASIS
OF AN ENGINEERING AND TRAFFIC INVESTIGATION,
AND ESTABLISHING SPEED ZONES, ON FAP11 TO MJ4=T
ROAD FM 455, TWIITBIN TEE CORPORATE LIMITS OF TIE
CITY OF SANGER, TEXAS, AS ,SET OUT IN =S ORDINANCE,
PROVIDING THAT VIOLATION OF THIS ORDINANCE SHALL
CONSTITUTE A KISDEMEAINTOR, AND PROVIDING A PENALTY
UPON CONVICTION OF A FINE. NOT TO EXCEED 200900
FOR VIOLATION OF SAID ORDINANCE.
iF_EREA.S, Section 8 of Article 827a, Vernonf s Penal Code
of the State of Texas, provides that whenever the governing
body of the Gity shall determine upon the basis of an engineering
and traffic investigation, a reasonable and safe prima facie
speed limit upon the streets and highways of the City, taking
into consideration the width and condition of the pavement
and other circumstances on said streets and highways, as well
as the usual traffic thereon, the governing body of said City
may declare said reasonable and safe prima facie speed limit
thereon by the passage. of an ordinance, which shall be effective
when appropriate signs giving notice thereof are erected on said
streets and highways; Now, therefore:
BE IT ORDAINED BY = CITY COUNCIL, OF THE CITY OF BANGER,
TE 'LA,S
SEGTI'ON 1.
Upon the basis of an engineering and traffic investigation
heretofore made as authorized by the provisions of Section 8
of Article 829a, Vernon* s Texas Penal Code, the following prima
facie speed limits are hereby determined to be reasonable and
safe, and are hereby fixed for all vehicles travelling upon the
hereinafter designated portions of Farm to 1 Iarket Road No. 455
within the corporate limits of the City of Sanger, Texas, to-wi.t:
From the 1'�Test corporate city limits of
the City of Sanger, East on Farm to Market
Road No. 455, a distance of 0.2 mile.
From the last mentioned point East on
Farm to Market Road No. 455, a distance
of 0.2 mile, to a point 0.4 mile East of
the West city limits of Sanger.
From the last mentioned point East on
Farm to Market Road No. 455, a distance
of 0.2 mile, to a point 0.6 mile East of
the hest city limits of Sanger.
From the last mentioned point East on
Farm to Market Road No. 455 to the East
city limits of the City of Sanger.

Speed Limit
45 miles per hour
40 miles per hour
35 miles per hour
30 miles per hour
The prima facie speed limits fixed and established for the
respective speed zones hereinabove set forth, shall be applicable
to all vehicles travelling within each speed zone, without regard
to the direction of travel.
SECTION 2.
Any person violating any of the provisions of this ordinance
shall be deemed, guilty of a misdemeanor, and upon conviction
thereof shall be fined in any sum not more than TKo I3undred
(200.00) Dollars.
SECTION 3.
The City Marshal of the City of Sanger is hereby authorized,
in cooperation with the Texas State Highway Department, to erect
appropriate signs approved by the Texas State Hig3aray Department
giving notice of the prima facie speed limits hereby fixed and
established within the respective speed zones hereinabove designated,
are erected upon said Farm to 143arket Road No. 455 within the said
City of Sanger, Texas.

S CTi(}N 4.
All ordinances and parts of ordinances of the City of Sanger
in conflict with any of the provisions of this ordinance are
hereby repealed to the extent of such conflict.
SECTIaN 5.
This ordinance shall be effective from and after the date
of its publication as provided by law a.nd the _erection of said
signs on said Farm to laiarket Road l To. 455 provided for in :Section
3 of this ordinance.
