1. Charles Fenoglio Called the Meeting to Order.
2. Approve Minutes -April 13, 2000
Jack Richardson moved to approve the minutes. Polly Dwyer seconded. Motion carried
unanimously.
3. Conduct Public Hearing to Consider a Specific Use Permit to put a Retail Food
Establishment (Sonic Urive In) on property legally described as Lot 2, Pate Addition. ·The
Property is located on the SW. comer of F.M. 455 and 8th Street.
Public Hearing open.
Gene Gumphrey showed the board a proposed layout for the Sonic, he indicated it will be
a brick building, there will be a place for employee parking, and an enclosed dumpster
area. It will be similar to the one on Colorado Blvd. in Denton.
Discussion regarding the layout.
Discussed setbacks and the right of ways.
Jack Richardson indicated the citizens had questions regarding clean up.
James Emery indicated the lot will be picked up every thirty minutes and detailed every
night.
Charles Fenoglio indicated other companies have problems with signs, and asked if they
were going to have any problems.
Mr. Gumphrey indicated their attorney had reviewed the City's sign ordinance and
didn't see a problem.
Joe Falls asked if there would be any problem with utilities.
City Manager indicated there was not.
Public Hearing closed.
4. Consider and Possible Action Regarding a Specific Use Permit to put a Retail Food
Establishment (Sonic Drive In) on property legally described as Lot 2, Pate Addition. The
Property is located on the SW. comer of F .M. 455 and 8th Street.
Polly Dwyer indicated she was happy they were willing to ba:ing this without variances.

Joe Falls moved to approve the project as presented as long as the developen make a
double check on the setback.1, and if necessary to increase the setback to facilitate 4SS's
obvious potential need for better traffic flow in the future, and voluntarily adjust the
setback if there is any question about the closeness to 455. Polly Dwyer seconded. Motion
carried unanimously.
