S. Review of Subdivision Ordinance Sections 5 & 6.
Shelley Ruland indicated the ordinances are requiring alleys, if we are not going to
require them, maybe we should delete that section.
Shelley addressed lot sizes, and indicated if they have smaller lots, she would like to
require more park and community area. There could be a score system and for
everything you· give up you have to have more points in other areas. Justin is getting
pools and play grounds with smaller lots.
Samantha indicated they could get ordinances from other cities and put Section 5.03
back on the next agenda for review.
City Manager indicated he felt sidewalks should be required. He felt the alleys couM
be removed if the services are in the front, if services are in the rear they should require
alleys.
Ralph Cain indicated he was bearing a lot of people complain about the size of homes
going in. He wondered if it would be possible to put a limit on smaller homes and allow
larger homes to be built, then allow the smaller homes.
City Manager indicated they could vote to not zone the property for the smaller homes.
Discussion.
Shelley Ruland indicated they should have the size of home on the score card.
Shelley Ruland indicated they need a set of rules that will work for everyone.
Discussion.
Shelley Ruland indicated with smaller lots the subdivisions should be required to
provide ample park areas and other recreational areas. Just providing land is not
helping the City. They should be required to provide the recreation area.
Discussed Park requirements.
Discussed Paving width requirements.
