I., MINUTES: Planning & Zoning Commission October 22, 1985 MEMBERS PRESENT: Chairperson Billy Hollingsworth, Tommy Kincaid, Eileen Brittian, Fred Yeatts~ and Georgia Royal MEMBERS ABSENT: Joe S. Waide and Bill Enlow OTHERS PRESENT: Stephen K. Shutt, City Manager, Mayor Nel Armstrong, Lee Lawrence, and Etta Stogsdill_ - 1. Chairperson Billye Hollingsworth called the meeting to order. 2. The minutes of the October 8, 1985 meeting we~e _approved as printed. 3. Commissioners considered a variance request on the S.½ of the S.E.¼ of Block 1, Hampton Addition for J. Nettie Hemrick Seeton. No one was present to speak on behalf of this requ~st. After much discussion to this variance request, Mr. ·.Shutt mentioned that the main problem he could foresee would be which way the garage is located. It was noted the property is located at Wood and 7th Street. Mr. Shutt stated that if they planned to enter the garage from 7th Street, the house site would need to be shifted west six feet; if they planned to enter off of Wood Street, they would need the house plans changed where the garage would be flip-flopped. Discussion. Motion was made by Tommy Kincaid that it be passed with the stipulation.that it be shifted 6' or the garage flip-flopped; · final approval to be made by City Council. Eileen Brittian seconded. Voted unan. 4. Mr. Lee Lawrence with Governmental Service Agency spoke in reference to amendments to the city's zoning & subdivision ordinances. He discussed the Planned Development District, Specific Use, Classified and Home Occripations. He noted these ordinances would need much consideration as to how they would ·affect the community and developers. After much discussion, a workshop will be scheduled with the -City Council and P & Z for October 29, 1985, at 7:00 p.m. to. review. th~se ordi~ances making deletions ~nd a~qiti.o~s. -_-----Eileen Brittian made a motion. to adjourn the me~ting_. _ · ·Kincaid se6onded. October 23, 1985 at 11 a.m.per:telephone conver_- sation, Mr.· Shutt spoke with Mrs. ~Seeton regarding her r~quest~ Mrs. Mason is buying the property.· They will flip-flop the garage where they'll enter from Wood Street which otherwise would ·have caused a blind corner on 7th Street.
