Chairperson Billye Hollingsworth, Ken Howard,
Charles Kesseler, and Fred Yeatts
Eileen Brittian and Tommy Kincaid
Ray Abbott, Steve Shutt, and Rose Shuffield
1. Meeting was called to order.
2. Minutes of May 26, 1987 were approved as written.
3. Consider and possible action for a variance request
from Ray Abbott for variance on the E½ lot of #18, Block 17,
Hampton Addition.
Mr. Abbott stated both lots belong to him.
Mr. Abbott stated he would like to build a house on 603
Marshall. He asked that if they gave special use permit
to construct this house and restricted the other lot for
the future that if something ever happened to the existing
house on the adjoining lot that no other house would ever
be rebuilt or reconstructed on that lot.
Charles Kesseler made a motion that a variance be granted
for Mr.· Abbott. Billye Hollingsworth seconded. Motion
carried.
Mr. Abbott then requested a variance as such would move
the existing property line that exists on the map but
does not exist on the records, because its all of the E½ of
Lot 18 with the restriction that 603 Marshall be rebuilt
this making the lot as one and the two houses on the lot
being a temporary situation because 603 Marshall can never
be rebuilt.
Steve· Shutt stated this would be a Special Use if it would
not be considered Multi-Family and the condition that the exist-
ing house could never be rebuilt for whatever reason.
Ken Howard stated that this was just moving the existing
property line.
Charles Kesseler moved that they accept Mr. Abbott's proposal
to move the property line on the E. side of Lot 18 extending
his property to the entire length of that lot which is about
95' giving him a Special Use Permit so that he may build
his proposed house and also maintain the smaller house on the
East side of the lot, making it available for rental property,
but limiting him not to reconstruct or rebuild on this lot
upon destruction or Act of God other than remodeling. Ken
Howard seconded. Motion carried. Meeting adjourned.
