Chairperson Jenkins Called Meeting to Order. 2. Approve Minutes -November 30, 2000 Chairperson Jenkins noted two corrections on the first page, change "el" to "Nel" and "leave" to "live". Bobby Frizzell moved to approve the minutes as corrected. Ken Perry seconded. Motion Carried unanimously. 3. Conduct Public Hearing to Consider a Variance Request concerning adding on to a residential home in 1-1 (Industrial 1) Zoning on Property Legally Described as OT Sanger, Block 5, Lot 3 & 4. Property is located at 114 S. 2nd Street. Public Hearing Opened. Robert Patton, 114 N. 2nd, indicated he was requesting a variance for an addition to his house. Public Hearing closed. 4. Consider and Possible Action Regarding a Variance Request concerning adding on to a residential home in 1-1 (Industrial 1) Zoning on Property Legally Described as OT Sanger, Block 5, Lot 3 & 4. Property is located at 114 S. 2nd Street. Chairperson Jenkins indicated Mr. Patton's request was in the packet. He did not get a permit, and had begun building onto his home. All letters received back were for approval. He indicated years ago the whole City was re-zoned. This lot is zoned 1-1. It is a non conforming use in an Industrial zoning. In the code book, it makes reference to non-conforming uses. It states nothing can be done on a non conforming building. Bob Hagemann, Code Enforcement Officer, indicated he had put a stop order on the project. Mr. Patton then came to the office to discuss the permit and variance request. There was not an inspection on the foundation or the rough-in plumbing. Pete Morris asked if the permit was underway at this time. Staff indicated the variance has to be granted before the permit could be issued. Jim Mann asked if this would be allowed in a normal single family zoning. Staff indicated it would be allowed. John Springer moved to approve the request. Bobby Frizzell seconded. Motion carried unanimously 5. Any Other Such Matters. a) Chairperson Jenkins asked to put Appointment of Co-Chairperson on next agenda. b) Chairperson Jenkins indicated they needed to start enforcing the ordinance in regards to parking regulations, etc. Bobby Frizzell indicated he agreed with Jerry. Discussion regarding violations of ordinance, particularly parking regulations and closed in garages. Pete Morris indicated he felt their should be something put in the paper regarding the regulations. Discussion regarding regulations and metal buildings. 6. Meeting Adjourned. Approved
