08/22/1974-PZ-Minutes-RegularThe Planning and Zoning Commission of the City of Sanger met Thursday, August 22, 1974, at 7:30 p.m. in the City Hall to consider a petition filed by J. M. Sims request- ing a change in zoning from a single-family to a local business district. The said property is located on Fifth Street in Sanger, Texas, and is more particularly described as follows: A garage part of an 8.50-acre tract of land bounded on the West by the Hill - crest Sub -Division, on the North by Dots 53, 53A, and 29A of the Hampton Addition, and on the East and South by Fifth Street (Old U.S. 77). Present for the hearing were Mr. and Mrs. J.M. Sims, Wade Parsons, and City Administrator Dave Marrs; also Commission members Brmce Anthony, Tommy Chapman, Daisy Cook, Ella Hall, and Chairman Alvin Brown. Following discussion, a motion was made by Ms. Cook that the Commission recommend that the City Council approve Mr. Sims petition, subject to the conditions of Section 18 of the Zoning Ordinance of the City of Sanger governing a non -conforming use. Tommy Chapman seconded the motion and it was passed unanimously. The minutes of the previous meeting were read; they were approved with a motion by Tommy Chapman and a second by Daisy Cook. In other business, it was decided that the Commission meet each 4th Thursday rather than on Tuesdays. The meeting was adjourned.
