APRIL 22, 1974
The Planning and Zoning Commission of the City of Sanger, Texas,
met Monday, April 22, 1974, at 7:30 P.M. in the Council Room of
the City of Sanger to consider two petitions requesting changes
in zoning classification. All members of the Commission were pre-
sent with the exception of J.C. Landers and Tommy Chapman. Others
present were Mayor Ken Cornell, Mr. and Mrs. Larry Prater, Mr. and
Mrs. Dallas Prater, Mr. and Mrs. V.E. Morrow, Alma Cherry, Ruth
Rippey, Marvin and Gene South, Mrs. Nola Muir, R.J. (Bob) McLaugh-
lin, and City Administrator Dave Marr.
The Commission first considered the petition filed by Mr. and Mrs.
Larry Prater seeking a change in zoning from Single Family (R-1)
District to Local Retail District. The said property is located
D] at 206 S. Third Street and is bounded on the south by Wood Street
��fJ and on the west by Third Street. It is more particularly des-
cribed as follows:
Lot 2, Block E in the White Addition of the City
of Sanger, Texas.
Following discussion, Ella Hall made a motion that the Commission
recommend to the City Council that the property under question be
deemed a non-cOnforming use, and be subject to the terms of Section
18 of the Zoning ordinance governing such use. The motion was
seconded by Daisy Cook and carried unanimously.
Secondly, the Commission considered the petition filed by Mr.
R.J. McLaughlin for the First National Bank, Sanger, Texas, seek-
ing a change in zoning from Single Family (R-1) District to Local ✓
Business District for property located on FM 455, west of Sanger.
The said property is more particularly described as follows:
Approximately 19.67 acres, more or less, in the H. Tier -
wester Survey, A-18, in the City of Sanger, Texas, located
at t at the intersection of the service road of 1-35 and
FM 455.
A motion was made by Daisy Cook that the Commission recommend
to the City Council that the petition filed by Mr. McLaughlin
be accepted. Bruce Anthony secondeithe motion; it carried unani-
mously.
In further business, a motion was made by Mrs. Cook that the pro-
posed-Freize Drive be platted into the map of the City of Sanger,
,1 f pending the legal stamp by a certified surveyor. Mrs. Hall seconded
the motion and it carried unanimously.
The minutes of the previous meeting were read by the secretary, and
were approved as read.
The next meeting was set for April 29, 1974 to reconsider the peti-,
tion by Mrs. Mac Cole.
Following a motion by Mrs. Cook, seconded by Bruce Anthony, the
meeting was adjourned at 11:15 p.m.
