Present: Chairman Jack Armstrong, Billye Hollingsworth,
John D. Springer, and Jimmy Frazier
Absent: Bill Enlow, Willard Bounds, and Georgia Royal
Others Present: Lloyd Henderson, Mary Jo Stover, Royce Jones
and Marland Knight
1. Chairman Armstrong administered the oath of office to newly
appointed commissioner John Springer.
2. The minutes of the July 29, 1980 meeting were approved as
printed.
3. A re -subdivision plat on the Mary H. Shirley Addition was
presented by Royce Jones. City Manager Henderson pointed
out to the board that the set back lines were not showing
on the plat nor the approval statement with the lines for
city officials signatures. It was agreed that no curb and
guttering need be done since the adjoining area was not
curbed and guttered. Jimmy Frazier made the motion to
accept the plat with corrections. Billye Hollingsworth
second. Voted unan.
4. Marland Knight requested a variance on a detached garage
he wants to construct on the back of his lot. A plot
plan with dimensions was presented commissioners, Motion
was made by Billye Hollingsworth to grant the variance.
John Springer second the motion. Voted unan.
5. Other such matters:
(a) Lloyd brought commission up-to-date on the P&Z map
being prepared by Hunter and Associates.
