Re: Economic Development Coordinator Position
Enclosed are all the resumes that we received that met the criteria we were looking for.
There were two applications that did not meet all the qualifications and we did not include those for
your review. One was not a Resume and did not include education, etc. The other resume was
incomplete and also did not include education and references.
Financials will be provided at the meeting.

1. President Muir called meeting to order.
2. Approve Minutes: August 23, 2005
Motion was made by Bill Fuller to approve minutes. Seconded by Carroll McNeill.
Motion carried unanimously.
3. Consider and Possible Action for Adoption of the Fiscal Year 2005-2006 Budget.
Vickie Jenkins expressed concern in requirements of Master's Degree.
Discussion about Job Description for Economic Development Director. Lengthy
discussion on the requirement of Education and the years experience in Economic
Development.
Both Boards discussed and agreed on a Bachelor's Degree in Economic Development
in one of the following or related fields.
Economics, Urban Planning, Public Administration, Business Administration
or Marketing with three or more years of progressively responsible experience
in Economic Development.
Lengthy Discussion about Salary and Benefits and possible incentives depending on
project. The Salary was discussed at $45K with Benefits.
Both Boards expressed concerns if this position was totally for Economic Development.
City Manager indicated it is for Economic Development. Both Boards indicated that
when the position was reevaluated that possibly the City could participate in funding.
Discussed was the advertising for this position. City Secretary advised that the
advertising for the position would be in the Denton Record Chronicle and the TML
website.
It was a cocensus of the 4A and 4B that the people involved in the interviewing process
for this position would be Mayor Tommy Kincaid, City Manager Jack Smith, City
Secretary/Assistant City Manager Rose Chavez, and a member from each of the
Boards.
It was decided that a questionnaire needs to be prepared to ask in the interview
process to be fair and equal.
President Muir asked for a motion to adopt the Budget for 2005-2006 (this includes
the position of the Economic Development Coordinator). Motion was made by Vickie
Jenkins. Seconded by Bill Fuller.
Motion carried unanimously.
