Minutes: Planning and Zoning Commission
June 19, 1979
Present: Chairman Jack Armstrong, Billye Hollingsworth,
Willard Bounds, Cecil Snellgrove, Harold Easley,
and Jimmy Frazier
Others Present: City Manager, City Secretary, Virgie Heffley,
Fern Hutto, Leslie Browning, Mrs. M. C. Baker, Winona
Boyd, Jesse Boyd, Martha Bea Elliott, Martha E. Elliott,
Mrs. Paxton Gray, William Cantrell, Linda Cantrell,
Lucille Enlow, Pat Schertz, Alvin Brown, Jerry Schertz,
and Hubert Schertz.
1. The minutes of the June 12, 1979 meeting were approved as
printed.
2. Petition Z-44 for Hubert Schertz, Jerry Schertz, and Alvin
Brown --Petition was presented and after considerable dis-
cussion both pro and con the item was brought to a vote at
the request of Mr. Brown and the Schertz's. Jimmy Frazier
made the motion not to rezone the property. Willard Bounds
second the motion. Vote was unanimous.
3. Other matters:
a. Commissioners were advised that Virgil Ward had been
contacted about filling the vacancy by Jenkins but had
not yet accepted.
b. City Manager advised Commissioners that he had taken
their recommendation regarding the 15 foot set back
on corner lots to Council. Council does not feel they
want t9 change from 25 foot at this ~ime.
