5. Follow Up From the Halloween Trick or Trot 5K and Monster Fun Run Held on October 27, 2018.
• Jennifer Shumate advised that while the event was extremely successful with over 50 people participating
attendance was down and staff believes it is due to the many other events being held on the same day.
Ideas of how to freshen up the event including changing of the date are being discussed and it was asked
of board members to send over any ideas they may have regarding improving this event.
6. Annual Christmas Parade to be Held on December 8, 2018.
• Jennifer Shumate advised this was added to the agenda as a placeholder to remind board members of the
date and ask if they can be there at 5pm. The parade will be the same as years past.
7. Keep Sanger Beautiful / Keep Texas Beautiful / Keep America Beautiful Update.
• Jackie Turner stated that she attended the Regional Training in Irving on July 31, 2018 to receive four
hours that are required and she advised that she came away with a lot of ideas to work on starting in the
coming months. Jackie has also attended webinars for both KAB and KTB and will be reporting all hours
and requirements to both organizations in January per their requirements.
• The Board once again thanked Jackie for her continued hard work on Keep Sanger Beautiful.
8. Open Discussion of Future Projects.
• The Board was advised that the Pavilion is coming along slowly due to the weather at Porter Park but will
operational soon.
• Jennifer Shumate told the board of a project the Recreation Department will be participating in with the
