August 12, 2014

1. Meeting called to order.
2. Pledge.
3. Citizen’s Input.
No citizens in attendance to speak.
4. Consider minutes of the meeting of July 1, 2014.
Minutes approved unanimously after a motion to approve by Lee Allison and a second by Carrie
Bilyeu.
5. Switzer Splash Park Grand Opening Event – July 12, 2014.
Event went very well. Great turnout.
Advised that rule sign is being quoted now.
City of Sanger had exposure in the Denton Record Chronicle.
6. Discussion of Fall Fishing Derby.
Fall Fishing Derby scheduled from October 25, 2014 from 2pm to 4pm.
Parks Board will hand out flyers during the Homecoming Parade on the morning of October 25,
2014.
7. Opening Discussion of Sanger Sellabration.
Balloons will once again be handed out at our booth along with flyer discussing events that
include fall fishing derby, scarecrow contest, and Christmas parade.
Parks Board will be handing out popsicles to the children in attendance.
Jennifer to work on schedule for event.
Carrie and Jackie will create a scarecrow to help not only decorate the booth but advertise for
the scarecrow contest.
8. Scarecrow Contest.
Board approves the flyer with the addition of the Parks Logo to the front.
Scarecrows will be removed early November.
Carrie would still like to decorate the downtown park to tie in with the Scarecrows.
Information will go out to the Citizens right before the Sellebration.
9. Open Discussion of Future Projects.
Updated Parks TShirts.
10. Future Agenda Items.

2015 Calendar to be discussed in October/November
