MINUTES: Parks and Recreation Board
February 9, 2016

PRESENT: Parks Superintendent Jim Berman and Administrative Assistant Jennifer Shumate
1. Meeting called to order at 7:00pm.
2. Pledge.
3. Citizen’s Input.
No citizens in attendance.
4. Consider minutes of the meeting of December 8, 2015.
Minutes approved unanimously after a motion to approve by Eddie Piercy and a second by Jackie
Pevehouse.
5. Follow Up to the Christmas Parade to be Held on December 12, 2015.
Everything went well – no changes other than blocking parking spots on Bolivar for Santa.
6. Trash Off to be Held on March 12, 2016.
Jackie Pevehouse to meet with Mr. Berman to product map for the trash clean up.
We will discuss in more detail during March meeting.
7. Easter Egg Hunt to be Held on March 26, 2016.
Eggs are being stuffed at this time.
Parks Board will meet at Porter at 7am to distribute eggs.
8. Fun Run to be Held on April 23, 2016.
Parks Board has no preference on Bubble Run/Color Run/etc but do feel that the run needs to be a “Fun”
Run
Parks Board would like to see a DJ, tshirts, water bottles, etc.
Mr. Jim Berman will have a cost analysis at the March meeting to make final decisions and begin
registration shortly after that.
9. Open Discussion of Future Projects.
Swings now at Switzer
Art in the Park (Maybe 2017?)
Dead trees located at Kamme Patton
Tire swing concerns at Quail Run
