MINUTES: Parks and Recreation Board
March 10, 2015

1. Meeting called to order at 6:58pm.
2. Pledge.
3. Citizen’s Input.
No citizens in attendance to speak.
4. Consider minutes of the meeting of February 10, 2015.
Minutes approved unanimously after a motion to approve by Eddie Piercy and a second by Jackie
Pevehouse.
5. Trash Off to be Held on March 14, 2015.
Trash Off will be held the second Saturday of March or March 14, 2015 from 8am to 12noon at Rail
Road Ball Fields.
Board Members are asked to arrive at 8am.
6. Easter Egg Hunt to be Held on April 4, 2015.
Board is available – will meet at Porter at 7:30am.
Parks Department will send out a reminder to the board the week of the event.
Parks Department has stuffed over 3,300 eggs and will be closer to 5,500 before the event.
Egg Hunt will begin at 9am.
7. Pitch, Hit, and Run to be Held on April 11, 2015.
Pitch, Hit, and Run will be discussed in more detail at the Parks Board Meeting on April 7, 2015. This is
more of a reminder of the event.
Any volunteers willing are invited to attend the Parks Board Meeting on April 7, 2015.
8. Parks CIP.
Mr. Berman is currently working on future budgets. Parks Equipment is currently in good working
condition. This request is more for additional items the Parks Board would like to possibly see over the
next 5 years. For instance, it was discussed at a past meeting to get Bleacher Covers for our ball fields.
Swings at a playground system were also discussed.
The Parks Department is asking for ideas at future meetings regarding ideas for our CIP.
9. Open Discussion of Future Projects.
10. Future Agenda Items.
Fishing Derby to be held on May 16, 2015.
