NOVEMBER 26TH, 2012
MEMBERS PRESENT: Josh Shumate, Lee Allison, Tom Swartz,
Mendy Echols & Carrie Bilyeu
MEMBERS ABSENT: Chris Byrom
OTHERS PRESENT: Mike Brice, City Manager
Norma Varner, Public Works Secretary &
Jennifer Shumate, Development Services Secretary
1. Mendy called the meeting to order at 6:58 pm.
2. Tom made a motion to approve the minutes from November 1st, 2012 with a
2nd from Carrie and the minutes were approved unanimously.
3. Nomination of Secretary to Replace Chris Byrom:
Josh nominated Tom for Secretary to replace Chris due to his resignation from the
board. Carrie made a 2nd to the motion and the board voted unanimously to
approve the nomination.
4. Citizens Input:
N/A
5. Discuss Christmas Parade Event:
Parks Department will arrive at 3:00 PM & provide sound system for
pavilion and cones to help with traffic control/Tom will bring 20-30
T-posts in buckets/
Jennifer will arrive at 5:00 PM to help with Santa and coordination of
events
Norma will contact electric department to provide bucket truck for
Santa to ride in and a golf cart for Parks Board members to ride in behind
Norma will contact Cora (former Parks Board member) to get
contact information for school choirs and e-mail to Carrie
5. Future Agenda Items:
Mr. Brice reported that new Parks Director will start January 2nd
and there will not be another meeting until after he begins employment
6. Tom made a motion to adjourn the meeting at 7:21 with a 2nd from Lee.
