MINUTES: Parks and Recreation Board
September 13, 2016

1. Meeting called to order at 7:00PM.
2. Pledge.
3. Citizen’s Input.
No citizens in attendance.
4. Consider minutes of the meeting of July 12, 2016.
Minutes approved unanimously after a motion to approve by Carrie Bilyeu and a second by Eddie Piercy.
5. Fishing Derby to be Held on October 22, 2016.
Fishing Derby will be held from 2pm to 4pm with registration starting at 1pm.
Same rules and guidelines as past Fishing Derby’s.
6. Halloween Trick or Trot 5K and Monster Fun Run to be Held on October 29, 2016.
Requesting all board members to help staff event.
Event will be at dusk with trick or treat stations on one mile fun run.
Event will be very similar to run held in April regarding course, etc.
7. Keep Sanger Beautiful / Keep Texas Beautiful / Keep America Beautiful
Mr. Jim Berman has asked Jackie Turner to head up Keep Sanger Beautiful and work on getting us back
in compliance with both Keep Texas Beautiful and Keep American Beautiful.
Mr. Berman also offered a CEU available to the class being held by Keep Allen Beautiful. Both Jackie
Turner and Alicia Metcalf will be attending that class.
8. Open Discussion of Future Projects.
Mr. Berman expressed excitement over what is potentially in the works for the coming years for the
Parks Department and reminded them he will be closely working with the 4B Board on future Parks
Improvements.
9. Future Agenda Items.
Tour of the Sanger Presbyterian Church.
Tour of Parks (possibly in conjunction with the 4B Board).
