2023-02-Resolution-Designating the Method of Making Written Request for Public Information-04/03/2023CITY OF SANGER, TEXAS RESOLUTION N0.2023-02 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANGER, TEXAS, DESIGNATING THE METHOD OF MAKING WRITTEN REQUESTS FOR PUBLIC INFORMATION AND NAMING A DESIGNEE FOR THE OFFICER FOR PUBLIC INFORMATION ACT REQUESTS; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE; AUTHORIZING ITS EXECUTION, AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the 86th Texas Legislature met and passed Senate Bi11944, adding Section 552.234 of the Texas Government Code, providing for the approval method(s) of making written requests for public information and allowing for the Public Information Officer to appoint a designee; and; WHEREAS, the governmental body is required to approve such method(s); and WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Sanger desires to approve such methods) and continues to support governmental transparency; and WHEREAS, Article IV Administration Service, Section 4.01 City Manager, C 10, ensures that all public records are accessible to the public and available upon request; and WHEREAS, the City Council finds that the passage of this Resolution is in the best interest of the citizens of Sanger. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANGER, TEXAS: SECTION 1. The facts and recitals set forth in the preamble of this Resolution are hereby found to be true and correct. SECTION 2. The following methods under Texas Government Code Section 552.234 are hereby designated as the approved means of submitting a written request for public records for the City of Sanger, Texas: (1) One mailing address: 502 Elm Street, PO Box 1729, Sanger, Texas 76266 (2) One electronic email address: citysecretary�sangertexas.org Resolution —Designating the methods for PIA requests Page I of 2 (3) Officer for the receipt of hand delivery during business hours: City of Sanger City Secretary's Office 502 Elm Street Sanger, Texas 76266 (4) Designating an electronic submission through the City's "Public Records Requests" website utilizing JustFOIA software. SECTION 3. The City Secretary is named the designee for the Office of Public Information Act requests. SECTION 4. That this Resolution shall become effective from and after its date of passage.
