MINUTES-SANGER PUBLIC LIBRARY BOARD
November, 15 2010
The meeting was called to order at 7:05 pm by Don McClure.
Members present at the meeting were: Don McClure, Elizabeth Muir, Judie Rodgers, Norma Matney,
Mandy Stephens and Vicky Elieson, Library Director
Minutes: Norma made a motion with a second from Judie to approve the minutes from the August 2010
meeting. Motion passed.
Library Director’s Report:
1. 33 participants were present at the National Gaming Day held at the library last weekend.
The participants did not advance to the finals but had a great time.
2. The “Priddy” Trust Grant was received and provided almost 600 children's books in
Spanish. Money was also received for programs promoting their use, training in
reaching Spanish speakers and shelving for the books we will be getting.
3. Lone Star Grant money will be used for a computer, a barcode scanner, gaming equipment, a
side walk sign, summer storytellers, TLA conference expenses and book and CD read-alongs.
4. “Texas Library Snapshot Day” was held on October 13, 2010 and all activities for one day
were recorded and comments from the public were received.
5. Long Range Plan was approved by the City council.
6. Staffing: Laura resigned and Betsy was hired.
7. Friends of the Library Book sale in September earned about $750. A Pampered Chef
fundraiser was held.
Review Collection Development Policy: Began review of Collection Development Policy. This will be
continued at the next meeting.
Adjourn: The meeting was adjourned at 8:10 pm. The next regularly scheduled meeting is set for

February 14, 2011.
