Re: Job Descriptions and salary comparison
The job descriptions were updated in order to deftne employees job duties and responsibilities.
Some of the Council requested this in the past, and we finally have our first draft. Samantha and
I have spent quite a bit of time in the preparation of the job descriptions. The job descriptions will
be an item that I would like Council to consider adopting at the first meeting in October. The salary
comparisons were done to show Council where some of our people would be grouped in comparison
to the City of Denton, and the market survey that they have conducted for this area. We grouped
people in categories based on their job descriptions. For the proposed plan for Sanger, we adjusted
the starting salaries, by decreasing them, so that they would fit more in line with our current
structure. In the pay scale that we did, we also put a range showing market and maximum rates.
By no means am I suggesting that any employee be placed in the levels, but it is a scale that possibly
Council could consider when developing a pay plan for the future.
Also enclosed is a copy of the City of Denton's current benefit package along with a copy of the
City of Sanger's current benefit package.
