Present: City Manager Jack Smith, City Secretary/Asst. City Manager Rose Chavez,
Police Chief Curtis Amyx, Water Supt. Eddie Branham, Court Administrator
Christy Punches, City Mechanic David Ervin, Street Supt. John Henderson,
Billing Coordinator Paula Morales, Carroll McNeill and Woodrow Barton.
1. Mayor called- meeting to -Order.
�. Discussion of Fiscal Year Budget 2004/2005.
Lengthy discussion followed. concerning the. tax. ratez Issues. addressed. were. as follows:
a, Possibility of -raising the tax exemption .from, $10,000.00 to $50,000.
b. The need to set the money in a separate fund for the purchase of an
Ambulance in the Fire Dept..
e. The importance of setting the equipment in place to pursue with the City
having their own ambulance service.
The Council agreed that the need for an ambulance service would be a benefit for the
community. The direction council took was to continue with budget reflecting a 305926 tax
rate.
The other areas of discussion were the rates for electric.
