Mayor Called Meeting to Order 2. Consider and Possible Action on Council Members) going to Austin to Leadership Summit 2000 Seminar by TML. City Manager explained the Resolution that was passed requires a vote to approve travel outside of Denton County. Councilman Ervin would like to go to the TML Conference in Austin. Councilman Garza moved to allow him to go. Councilman Higgs seconded. Motion Carried unanimously. 3. Discuss Land Use Study. Mayor opened it up for discussion. Kenneth Coignet, Public Management, explained the land use plan for the City. He gave the board members a handout, and went over it. He went over the definitions, and explained where deteriorated and dilapidated structures were in the City. Discussed the table illustrating the stock of buildings and classifications given to each structure. Discussed the analysis and their recommendations. Discussed population, census data, and future population. Mr. Coignet went over the table for existing land use, and discussed was the land use plan. He also went over the goals relating to the ETJ. Discussion regarding promotion of Commercial business along FM 455, future thoroughfares, and economic development. Discussion regarding infrastructure improvements. Lengthy Discussion regarding Land Use Plan among all Board members. Mr. Coignet indicated it was the consensus to change the 250 ft' commercial corridor to 500 ft. per Mark Hill's recommendation. Discussion regarding possibly bringing industrial in along the railroad. Mayor suggested that Mr. Coignet review the City's subdivision Ordinance when revising the land use plan. 4.
