MINUTES: City Council Workshop
September 2S, 1995

Fire Chief
1. Mayor called workshop to order.
2. Draft Budget FY 95-96
Council reviewed the proposed expenditures for the following departments:
a} Eire
b) Administration
c) Data Processing
Discussed in the workshop was the Step Plan. Consensus of Council to adopt it this
year and it will be in place for 96-97 Budget year. This will allow evaluations to be
done during the year, which will determine which employees will get raises in 96-97
Budget year.
Staff presented corrected department budgets that were made from the last City
Council Workshop. Brief summary was given that the budget cuts were made to allow
for additional contingency.
Discussion concerning new Police Vehicle not budgeted in the Police Department..
Councilman Ervin indicated that in his opinion he felt the new vehicle in Public Works
needed to be taken out of Public Works Budget and these funds put in contingency also.
Consensus of Council to take it out of Public Works Budget and place this money in
contingency also. Discussion was that sometime in January or February they can
review this item and decide whether to bid for the Police Vehicle and the truck for
Public Works if the money is available in contingency.
