City Council Meeting May 20, 1991 Mayor Nel Armstrong, Councilwoman Margie Braxton, Councilman Wendell Thomas, Councilman Jahn Berndt, Councilman Jerry Jenkins, and Councilman Tommy Kincaid City Manager John Hamilton, City Secretary Rase Garcia City Secretary, Larry Yoast Electric Supt., Chuck Tucker Public Works Supt, Benny Erwin Chief of Police, Garland Thornton, and Merwyn Tucker 1}. Mayor Armstrong called the meeting to order. City Manager gave the invocation. Mayor Armstrong led the pledge to the flag. 2}. Minutes were approved as printed. 3}. Disbursements -Councilman Thomas made the motion to approve disbursements. Seconded by Councilman Jenkins. Motion carried. 4}. Citizen's Input None 5}. Consider and Possible Action Regarding Election of Mayor Pro-Tem Motion was made by Councilman Kincaid; to elect Councilman Jerry Jenkins as Mayor Pro-Tem. Seconded by Councilman Thomas. Motion carried. 6}, Consider and Possible Action Regarding Authorization to Request Bids on New Police Patrol Vehicle Councilman Jenkins made the motion to authorize to request bids on a new police patrol vehicle and authorize the transfer of funds from U. F. Equipment Replacement Account to General Fd. Equip. Repl. Acct and the balance from the Contingency Fund. Seconded by Councilman Kincaid. Discussion. Motion carried. 7}. Consider and Passible Action Regarding ganger Volunteer Fire Department. Membership This item tabled to allow Volunteer Fire Department an opportunity to discuss this item. S). Recognize. Proclamation #Pfi-91 Which Recognizes Buckle Up America Week (May 20-27th} Mayor Armstrong declared Proclamation #P6-91 as Buckle Up America Week -May 20-27th. Consider and Possible Action Regarding the Adoption of a Permit (TWC} For Participation in the National :Flood Insurance Program City Manager explained the requirements for compliance placed upon the City by the Texas Water Commission regarding our participation in the National Flood Insurance Program. Consensus of City Council to instruct staff to proceed to draft ordinance to do the permitting. 10}.
