Mayor Armstrong called the meeting to order. Councilman Wendell fihamas gave the invocation. Mayor Armstrong led the pledge to the flag. 2}. Citizen's Input -None �r' 3). Consent Agenda a. Consider Payment to Kern Painting - Painting Ground Storage Tank Motion was made by Councilman Jenkins and seconded by Councilman Kincaid to approve the consent agenda Motion carried. 4}. Consider and Possible Action Regarding Fire Department Selection and Membership Standards - - Chief Tucker reported that this item was taken to the members of the Volunteer Fire Department and they :have given their approvaL Discussion. Motion was made by Councilman Berndt that we accept the Fire Department recommendation on Fire Department selection of membership standards as presented by Chief Tucker. Seconded by Councilman Thomas. Motion carried. 5}. Consider and Passible Action Regarding Bids for Telemetric Control System for Acker Street We1L Discussion. Motion was made by Councilman Kincaid. that we accept the bid far Telemetric Control System for the package as presented Seconded by Councilman Jenkins. Motion carried. Consider and Possible Action Regarding bid for Police Patrol Vehicle Councilman Jenkins made the motion to accept bid from Hilz-Snider in the amount of $12,361.00. Seconded by Councilman Thomas. Motion carried. 71. Consider and Possible Action Regarding dJrdinance #Q8-91 Reguiating Consiructian in Special Flood Hazard Areas CITY OF BANGEF: ORDINANCE #OS-�� 1 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY C?F BANGER, DENTON COUNTY, TEXAS, ESTABLISHING A PERMIT BYSTEM AND FORM AS PRESCRIBED BY THE TEXAS WATER COMMISSION CONCERNING FILL AND CONSTRUCTION IN DESIGNATED FLOOD PLAIN AREAS AS ESTABLISHED BY THE NATIONAL FLOOD INSURANCE PROGRAM, ESTABLISHING AN EFFECTIVE DATE, A PENALTY CLAUSE AND A SEVERABILTTY CLAUSE. Motion was made by Councilman Berndt to adopt Ordinance #45-91. Seconded by Councilman Kincaid Motion carried. S. Consider and Possible Action Regarding Telephone Franchise Steering Committee - Payment of Legal Fee Discussion. Madan was made by Councilman Jenkins to adapt Resolution #R4-91. Seconded by Councilman Thomas. CITY OF SANGER, TEXAS 1r Isola MINIMUM , y 9. Consider and Possible Action Regarding Street Construction Discussion. City Administration Report: a}. City Manager advised that the contract on Freese Drive Extension called for completion by May 29th. Our engineers have not contacted him back concerning the rainy days; they have negotiated with Calvert Construction. 140 and Andy Samson, Executive Director of Texas Parks & Wildlifil has signed Recreational and Operational Agreement and Dallas has approved it. d}. City Manager mentioned he will be leaving on Friday for a City Manager's Annual Seminar in Corpus Christi. 12. Any Other Such Matters: a}. Councilman Jenkins had the opportunity to use the landfill dumpster this week and from his observation, if people do not take the time to load the dumpsters, then, there is slot of space that is wasted. I Staff to also check with the landfill attendant to see what days he s actually working. r y ! -r . e • -r • I fill III III Jill who would mow lots to be included whenever a weed letter is sent. This will hopefully keep the City from doing all the mowing. Discussion. c}. Mayor Armstrong reported that the Industrial Board is working with a prospect that is willing to establish in Sanger. This industry will establish 60 jobs and possibly increase to 110 later on. This prospect is presently seeking :financial assistance. d}. Mayor Armstrong also stated there :ire several areas on Diane that have tree limbs due to the storm we had. e}. Council discussed the memorandum Chief Erwin sent out concerning unlocking vehicles. It was agree that the: 1). Officer is to adjust to the situation and use his judgment and use a release form. f}. Mayor Armstrong also advised that Councilwoman Braxton had a complaint concerning the street patch on 2nd Street. The patch is awfully high and needs to be looked into. 13. Adjournment.
