Mayor Armstrong called the meeting to order. City Manager gave the invocation which was followed by the pledge to the flag. 2. Consent Agenda; a}. Approve Minutes of 10/21J91 b}. Disbursements c). Resolution #R11- l-Casting Votes for Candidate to Denton Central Appraisal Board of Directors Motion was made by Councilman Jenkins and seconded by Councilman Kincaid to approve the Consent Agenda. Motion carried. 3. Citizen's Input: None 4. Consider and Possible Action Regarding Frontier Waste Management's Request to Observe November 28, Thanksgiving Day, No Trash Pick-up Motion was made by Councilman Jenkins that the City approve Frontier Waste Management's request to observe November 28th, Thanksgiving Day as a no trash pick-up day. Seconded by Councilwoman Braxton. Motion carried. 5. Consider and Possible Action to Advertise for Bids on Recodification of City Code Book Motion was made by Councilman Kincaid to authorize staff to advertise for bids on Recodification of City Code Book. Seconded by Councilman Berndt. Motion carried. 4. Consider and Possible Action to Authorize Bids on New Police Vehicle Motion was made by Councilman Thomas to pass Memorandum # 1422 to authorize staff to advertise for bids on a new police vehicle. Seconded by Councilman Jenkins. Motion carried. �. Consider and Possible Action Regarding Refunding G. O. Bonds, 1986 Issue Discussion. Motion was made by Councilman Kincaid that we proceed with the refunding of G. O. Bonds, 1986 Issue. Seconded by Councilman Berndt Motion carried. 8. Consider and Possible Action Regarding Preliminary Design of Sewer Interceptor Line -Ward Addition Brief summary -City Manager stressed the need for interceptor line in Ward Addition due to the problems the residents in the Ward Addition have experienced with sewer backups. Motion was made by Councilman Jenkins to proceed with securing preliminary design of sewer interceptor line for the Ward Addition as outlined in Memorandum # 1434. Seconded by Councilman Berndt Motion carried. 9. City Administration Report City Manager reported on the following issues: a. He has had a few concerns with the condition of RO.W. an Int 35. He contacted Mr. Byrd, of the Texas Transportation Department, and he informed him that it is scheduled for mowing in November. b. The Pedestrian Walkway that is scheduled to be built from the High School across I-35 to Bolivar Street which was originally scheduled for construction this calendar year and now it is targeted for June of 1992. c. The volunteer fire-fighter's disability insurance is now in effect Budget item was $1944.44 and it cost $1834.40. d. Mayor asked if the City Council could get permission from the. State for our city crews to mow around the exit ramp, especially during the summer when it gets dangerous? Chuck Tucker, Public �Torks Supt., replied that the City didn't need permission, all we needed to do is let them know we will be mowing those areas. Councilman Kincaid asked that the City needed to check with _ the State on who has the contract to move those areas. It was his understanding that someone is getting paid to do this job already and it could be they're not doing it. Staff was asked t4 inquire on this. 1(7. Any Other Such Matters: a Mayor asked as to how far down the property list is the "�4lelcome Sign."
