1.Mayor Armstrong called the meeting to order,gave the invocation
and led the pledge to the flag.

3,Disbursements:Councilman Jenkins made the motion to approve
disbursements for payment.Seconded by Councilman Thomas.Motion carried.
4,Citizen's Input.
5.Consider and Possible Action Regarding Training Policy ProposedforFireDepartment-Fire Chief Merwyn Tucker.
Discussion.
Councilman McNeill made the motion to approve 40%of training
session and 25%of fire runs was to be eligible for retirement
and membership in fire department

Seconded by Councilman Jenkins.Motion carried.
6 .Consider and Possible Action Regarding Electric Utility Mutual
Aid Agreement Between City of Denton and City of Sanger.
Motion was made by Councilman Jenkins and seconded by
Councilman Shaw to approve Electric Utility Mutual Aid
Agreement between City of Denton and City of Sanger.Motion
carried.
Consider and Possible Action Regarding the National OrganizationonDisability.

Motion was made by Councilman Shaw to join the National
Organization on Disability as a full partner.Motion carried.
(4.)Citizen’s Input:8.
a.Arlene Thomas presented City Council with a petition signed
by several residents residing on Railroad Ave.3 Willow^Kirkland,Georgia,and Jones Street.
Issues addressed:
(1)Inadequate fire hydrants.
(2)Improperly paved roads.
(3)Street lights need to be fixed by Josephine Green’s house.(4)Weeds,
(5)Culvert needs to be cleaned out,*-T"—:'
Mrs,Thomas stated that these problems need to be corrected
for the welfare and health of all these citizens.
Mayor Armstrong replied that one fire hydrant was already in theprocessofbeinginstalledatthecornerofKirklandandSimsbytheChurchofGodandanotheronewouldbeplacedatthecornerofJonesandWillow.
Mayor Armstrong advised that the other problems addressed
would be taken care of and that the problem with weeds is theresponsibilityofpropertyownerstomowtheirproperty.The CitydoessendletterstopropertyownersandattimestheCityhasgoneintheretomow.
9.City Administration Report:
1.City Manager asked City Council members if anyone would
like to attend TML Region 8 Quarterly Meeting.

2.City Manager advised Lone Star Gas rate revision will notconnectservicetoacustomerwithanoutstandingbalancebeforeItistakencareof.This will prevent customers fromhavingserviceplacedinanothernameofafamilymember.

3.City Manager and city Connell discussed impact of
Legislature on Tax Rolls,,FDIC -Sect.15.
4.City Manager asked City Council if they would like to host
Open House.City Council agreed to host Open House on
February 1.
5.City Manager advised that he has enclosed some material
concerning EPA guidelines will be getting tougher.
6.City Manager discussed cellular phone as a back-up to
emergency call out.Council agreed to let staff purchase one.
City Manager advised that Chamber Banquet is scheduled for
Feb.3rd if anyone wishes to attend./.
8.Park Committee and staff will be preparing grant application
for swimming pool.
9.Workshop is scheduled for February 5 th at 5:30 p.m.on
Goals for 1990.
10.City Manager went over Engineer’s Report on Capital
Improvement.Council asked staff to see
attend workshop.
