02/05/1990-CC-Minutes-Work SessionFEBRUARY 5, 1990 % %mnvs^* Mayor Nel Armstrong,Councilman Wendall Thomas, Councilman Jerry Jenkins,Councilman Carroll McNeill, and Councilman Danny McDaniel MEMBERS PRESENT: MEMBERS ABSENT:Councilman Glenn Shaw OTHERS PRESENT:City Manager John Hamilton,City Secretary Rosalie Garcia,Tom Stang,and Supt.of P.W.Chuck Tucker Mayor Armstrong called the meeting to order.1. 2.Capital Projects for 1990 -1993 Topics of discussion were: Ij.Streets 2).Water 3).Wastewater Council went into a lengthy discussion concerning these capital projects. 568 Areas of discussion included: li -the 12”water line crossing 1-35. 2).Acker Street Extension from Elm to Bolivar Street ,and 3).Gateway Addition -access to Freese Drive. 4).Will©wood Addition -plans for construction would begin immediately after final plat is approved by the City. 5).Grant Sources for Water Distribution Improvement for Industrial Park Loop. 8).Existing Ground Storage Facility Capacity. 7 ).Water Quality. 8).Existing Well Capacity. 9).Water Purchase from UTMA,and, 10).The area of important concern facing the City,the Wastewater Treatment Plant. Tom.Slang,City Engineer,will begin bid document for 12s water line crossing 1-35: City Manager advised that Acker Street extension from Elm Street to Bolivar could be done with the existing funds from capital improvements in streets.
