AN ORDINANCE-AUTHORIZING AND ALLOWING,UNDER THE
ACT GOVERNING THE TEXAS MUNICIPAL RETIREMENT
SYSTEM,“UPDATED SERVICE CREDITS'’IN SAID SYSTEM
FOR SERVICE PERFORMED BY QUALIFYING MEMBERS OF
SUCH SYSTEM WHO PRESENTLY ARE IN THE EMPLOYMENT
OF THE CITY OF SANGER AND ESTABLISHING AN
EFFECTIVE DATE FOR SUCH ACTIONS;AND PROVIDING
FOR INCREASED MUNICIPAL CONTRIBUTIONS TO THE
CURRENT SERVICE ANNUITY RESERVE AT RETIREMENT OF

Mayor Armstrong stated this was a non-partisan,statewide
voter registration/education campaign that is being instigated
by the Secretary of State.

City Administration Report
City Manager reported on the following issues:
1).City Crews have finished sidewalk replacement in front of
the Chamber of Commerce.

2).The latest gasoline purchase made on 8/9/90 wholesale
price per gallon was $1,069.
3).VOE student will start working Tuesday,9/4/90.
Any Other Such Matters:
1).Mayor Armstrong advised the City Council that the
City Manager is getting a copy of an ordinance from the

Legal Office at iML concerning a write-in candidate(s).This will be presented as an agenda item at a later date.
Mayor Armstrong advised she has been asked to serve on
the TML Resolution Committee for the Annual Conference
which is scheduled for late October.She will be doing this.
Galaxy Cable is raising their rates.
Mayor also advised that Community Services does have aWeatherizationProgram.
Councilman Jenkins advised the importance of 911 cals.
Councilman Jenkins stated he had spent some time drivingthroughthecommunityandhehadobservedseveral
trailers,boats,recreation vehicles and cars parked on thestreets.Some are in bad shape and are hazardous to the
community.
Suggested possibility of adopting an ordinance and
prohibiting 24 hour parking on city streets.
Councilman Jenkins also reported on these matters.
a).Furniture Truck that is parked on the square and a
white Plymouth.
b).A ditch between Kathryn Drive and Diane Drive -South of Houston which needs to be taken care of.
