SUBJECT: Workshop Meeting with Volunteer Fire Department
In order for all members of the Council to have the opportunity to meet
and discuss the proposed training policy with the members of the Fire
Department, a Workshop coinciding with the regular fire department
meeting has been posted for Thursday, January 11 th at 7 p. m. in the fire
station. All Council Members are invited to participate in this
discussion.
A copy of Chief Tucker's proposal is enclosed for reference. If you have
any questions or concerns prior to the workshop, please let me know.

In reference to the conversation we had far having Certified Trained
Firemen and the Liabilities we have associated with the jab we do, I
recommend we set up a Basic Certification Training Course, This course
will provide 162 hours of training and will take approximately ten
months to complete, based on 17 hours a month training time. All
firemen will be required to participate in training and will have a two
year time period to achieve the basic certification level of training to
retain membership in the Fire Department$
