MINUTES: CAPITAL IMPROVEMENTS COMMITTEE DULY 319 2003 PRESENT: Shelley Ruland, Ken Perry, Ralph Cain, Merrie Lou Abney, Polly Dwyer, Gail Goodner, Jerry Jenkins ABSENT: Mike Lawler, Ginger Burt OTHERS PRESENT: City Manager Jack Smith, Assistant City Secretary/Administrative Assistant Samantha Renz, City Engineer Mark Owens, Code Enforcement Officer Danny Cockrell, Tim Glenndenning 1. Shelley Ruland Called Meeting to Order. 2. Approve Minutes -July 10, 2003 Item tabled. 3. Consider and Possible Action on Approval of the Land Use Plan for Submission to the City Council. Mr. Glenndenning gave the committee a copy of the finalized document. All of the tables and information have been updated and completed. The document included three maps and the large copies would be kept at City Hall. The first map in the packet identifies the water and sewer service areas. Discussed maps, existing and future land use. Mr. Glenndenning indicated he would answer any questions, and asked the board to accept the all use assumptions, and approve this to be sent to the City Council. He indicated it would not go to the Council until the Capital Improvements Plan is completed based upon the land use assumptions. Discussed some of the proposed uses on the map. Polly Dwyer and Merrie Lou Abney expressed that they would like to see the entire area along H3-35 be designated for Commercial use. Discussion continued regarding the future land use maps. Polly Dwyer felt that the area along the railroad should all be industrial. Discussion continued regarding land use. Polly Dwyer indicated she would like to see the changes mentioned before this is sent to the Council. Discussion continued. Polly Dwyer moved to approve the plan for submission to City Council with the changes as mentioned. Merrie Lou Abney seconded. Motion carried unanimously. Tim Glenndenning indicated he will provide new maps for the books at the next meeting. 4. Meeting Adjourned.
