Minutes of the Regular Meeting of the Sanger Utility Board
June 7, 1988
Call to Order The meeting was called to order at 6:30 P. M.
by the chairman, Herb Arledge.
Roll Call Jeff Morris was absent.
Discussion Carrol McNeil and Stanley Day led the
discussion on and review of the 1988-89 budget.
The budget for five year capital outlay and the
purchase of a Digger Derick Truck was also
discussed.
New Member New member, Chuck Trice, was sworn in by Herb
ARledge.
Action Items The motion to adopt Ordinance #09-99 was made
by Jack Burkholder and seconded by Francile
Sullivan. The motion carried unanimously.
Action Items The motion to request the Sanger City Council
to study the equipment needs and make
recommendations to the utility board was made
by Herb Arledge and seconded by Jack
Burkholder. The motion carried and the board
agreed to support the Councils recommendations.
Action Items The motion to request the Sanger City Council
to pass an ordinance prohibiting the billing of
the city for electricity or fuel adjustments by
any sub -division or development in the Denton
County Coop jurisdiction was made by Herb
ARledge and seconded by Francile Sullivan. The
motion carried unanimously.
Action Items Motion was made by Herb ARledge and seconded by
Jack Burkholder to approve the budget for 88-
89, including pay raises. The motion carried
unanimously and the board praised the Lineman
Series of Steps in Grades.
Adjourn The motion to adjourn was made by Jack
Burkholder and seconded by Francile Sullivan.
Recommendation of the Sanger Utility Board
June 7, 1988
Members of the Sanger Utility Board met with Carrol McNeil and
Stanley Day to discuss the Five Year Capital Improvement Plan and to
study and review the 88-89 budget.
The members of the utility board submit the following
recommendations to the Sanger City Council.
1. The city council will study the equipment needs of the city
and make a recommendation to the utility board.
2 . The Sanger Utility Board approves the 1988-89 budget and
supports personnel raises. The steps in grades for the
lineman series should be especially beneficial in the future.
3 . The Sanger City Council should pass an ordinance requiring any
sub-division or development in the Denton County Coop
jurisdiction to provide electricity for the street lights.
The city of Sanger should not be billed for electricity or
fuel adjustments.
