AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SANGER, TEXAS, APPROVING AN
EXTRATERRITORIAL JURISDICTION AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY OF
SANGER, TEXAS AND THE TOWN OF VALLEY VIEW, TEXAS, WAIVING AND
RELINQUISHING THE EXTRATERRITORIAL JURISDICTION OF EACH
MUNICIPALITY OVER CERTAIN DESIGNATED AREAS.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANGER,
TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That the attached Extraterritorial Jurisdiction Agreement between the City
of Sanger, Texas and the Town of Valley View, Texas, be, and the same is hereby approved and
adopted, and is made a part of this ordinance for all purposes.
SECTION 2. That this ordinance shall take effect immediately from and after its
passage, as the law in such case provides.

COUNTY OF DENTON § AREA AGREEMENT
COUNTY OF COOKE §
WHEREAS, the City of Sanger, Texas, is a home rule municipality located in Denton
County, Texas; and
WHEREAS, the Town of Valley View is a general law municipality located in Cooke
County Texas; and
WHEREAS, the City of Sanger and the Town of Valley View desire to establish a
boundary line between the respective extraterritorial jurisdiction areas of the two municipalities;
and
WHEREAS, the two municipalities agree that the boundaries of Denton County and
Cooke County constitute an appropriate boundary line between the respective extraterritorial
jurisdiction areas; and
WHEREAS, the municipalities agree that the boundary line between the extraterritorial
jurisdiction areas of the respective municipalities shall be fixed and determined by this
Agreement; NOW, THEREFORE,
KNOW ALL MEN BY THESE PRESENTS:
That for and in consideration of the mutual benefits to be derived by each, the City of
Sanger, Texas, a home rule municipality, and the Town of Valley View, Texas, a general law
municipality, agree as follows, to wit:
1. That the City of Sanger, Texas, does hereby waive and relinquish to the Town of
Valley View any extraterritorial jurisdiction area it may have over any area
located in Cooke County, Texas.
2. That the Town of Valley View, Texas, a general law municipality, does hereby
waive and relinquish to the City of Sanger, Texas any extraterritorial jurisdiction
area it may have over any area located in Denton County, Texas.
3. That it is the intention of the parties that the City of Sanger, Texas shall have no
extraterritorial jurisdiction over any area in Cooke County, Texas, and that the
Town of Valley View, Texas shall have no extraterritorial jurisdiction over any
area located Denton County, Texas.

4. That this Agreement shall become effective when signed by a representative of
each respective municipality and when duly approved and adopted by an
ordinance or resolution, adopted by the governing body of each municipality. �C
