02/02/1976-CC-Minutes-RegularMinutes: City Council Meeting February 2, 1976 Present: Mayor Cornell, Cooper, Hall, Enlow, McDaniel, Moore, City Administrator L. The minutes of the regular meeting of January 19, 1976 were read and approved. - 2. Monthly disbursements: It was moved by Cooper and seconded by Hall that February disbursements in the amount of $13.852.92 be approved. Motion carried 5-0. 3Sanger Electric capital improvements After an explanation by- ,Lindon Carr of several items on the invoice, it was.moved by Cooper and seconded by Moore that November capital improve- ments in the amount of $4,649.39 be approved. 4. Bids for sale of 1958 two -ton trucks The list of bidders and amounts was read by the City Administrator, It was moved by McDaniel and seconded by Hall that the bid be awarded to Hank Cooper, the high bidder, in the amount of $550.00. Motion carried 5-0- VW 44%1 txThe City Administrator briefed the Council on the amount of delinquent taxes still due and the number of - notices sent to collect them, The Council -directed the City Administrator to continue sending notices and collect as much as possible, With respect to Mr. C. R. Landers' request for a waiver of penalty and interest charges tabled from the last meeting, the Council decided it would not be -fair to waive penalties for one person and not others. 6. Water line to Tansey Company: The City Administrator briefed the Council that the City Engineer,.Bob Shawn, recommeried against placing a fire hydrant on the well supply line. Mr. Shawn pro- vided a cost estimate of $159620 to bore a line under the rail- road tracks, The Council directed the City Administrator to conduct additional research into the costs involved, 7. Texas Public ITtility Commission requirements: The City Admin- istrator briefed the Council on the requirement for filing territorial maps and certificate of Convenience & Necessity with the view Public.Utility Commission. He stated the City must reach an.agreemen.t with the Denton County Co-op and Bolivar Water Supply Corp. An agreement with Bolivar Water Supply had been reached, and the Mayor stated he and the City Administrator would meet soon with Denton County Co-op. 8, Municipal Elections Itwas moved by Cooper and seconded by Hall that an election for the Mayor and two Councilmen be called for Saturday,- April 3, 1976, to be held at City Hall from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m, with Aaron Yeatts as Presiding_Judge and Thelma Spratt as alternate Presiding Judge, Meeting adjourned at 8s40 p.m. ATTEST: Minutess City Council Meeting February 16,1976 Presents Mayor Cornell, Hall, Enlow, T.
