1. Minutes of August 21, and August 24, 1978 were approved as
printed.
2. Disbursements in the amount of $19,317.96 were approved on
a motion by Bridges. Second by McDaniel. Voted unan.
3. Sanger Electric Capital Improvements for $5,312.02 were approved
on a motion by McDaniel. Cooper second. Voted unan.
4. Bennie Parrent pesented his Plat on Indian Springs Subdivision
For Council consideration. Discussion. City Mgr. questioned who
would supply the water. Parrent - Bolivar Water has said they
will supply all the water we want. Discussion. Bridges requested
that they consider assigning house numbers. Parrent was in agreement.
John Coker made the motion to approve the final plat subject to
Final approval by the City Engineer. Bridges second. Unan.
5. C%ty Budget FV 1978-79 - Discussion. Mayor advised Council
it is necessary for a public hearing before the Budget can be
approved. Tt was the general consensus of Council as far as salaries
are concerned that department heads would possibly receive $35.00
per month increase and all non-managemnet employees could possibly
receive 3% plus $25.00 per month.
6, John Coker made the motion the City take bids on Public
Officials L%ability. Hampton second. Unan. John Sullivan
recommended the City seek a deductible of $500. or $750.
7. Coker made the motion the City fund up to $1.00 per capita
per year for ambulance service based on NCTOG population estimates_
of 2100 persons. Bridges second. Unan.
8. Other matters-:
(a) Hampton advised Council that Mr. Jesse Boyd at 6th and
Plum had approached him with regards to the City mowing a
riight-of-way on his property. Problem will be looked into.
(b) Police Department discussed.
(c) Tt was- requested that the auditors be put back on the
agenda for next meeting.
