April-9th-1949
The City Coucncil met in a cglled session on above date,for the
purpose of canvassing the election returns,and giving the oath
of office to the New Mayor and councilmen.
After the minutes of the previous meeting,were read by secretary
and approved. E.M.Acker--H.D.Cooper & C.R.Chapman was appointed
to retire to another room and canvass the election returns,after
doing the job,the Mayo r'B-Bailey--and councilmen-- R.L.King-//' ,4
J.P.Rampton Jr. were declared elected. The votes were as follows.
Mayor.
H.B.Tonn-- 107
H.B.Bailey- 125
Councilinen.
Alvin Brown--115
H.D.Cooper --132
E. E.Pate -- 92

No other business the council ajourned.

City Council met in aregular session,members present

H.P.Cooper. With Mayor Bailey presiding.
The minutes of the previous were read and approved.
The first business of importnance was whether or not the
city put back the Red Light at the corner of Faith and
Bolivar Street,after quite a talk on the subject a motion
was made by R•L.King and sec. by H•D.Cooper that the light
be put back in position. The motion carried.
The question of hauling the fuel oil was up for disscusion,
after this was talked about by council they decided to have
D.'.Gheen of The G.I.Oil Co. come before the council and
explain the conctract,he gave it to the council as follows.
Hauling out of Ardmore co'tst per gal.plus.oi¢ for hauling.
Out of Gainesville cost plus .o'. per gal for hauling,then
out of Ft. Worth cost plus -old, for hauling. After this was
explained_ by Gheen,a motion was made by E.M.Acker and sec.
by R.L. King that the G.I.Oil Coo be given the conetract.
