06-10-12-Resolution-Delinquent Tax Collection-06/04/2012RESOLUTION 06-10-12 - Whereas, Cause No. 20044646-362, County of Denton vs. Van Doran Shaw Estate et al was filed in the District Court of Denton County, Texas to collect delinquent taxes on the following described property, to wit: .249 Acre our of Abstract 1241 of the Tierwester Survey, Tract 285, OId DCAD Sheet 2, City of Sanger, Denton County, Texas being that property more particularly described in Tract Two in Volume 2797, Page 409 of the Deed Records, Denton County, Texas Whereas, the District Court of Denton County, Texas granted Judgment on March 2, 2007, in favor of the taxing jurisdictions of Denton County as follows: County of Denton $1,470.28 Sanger ISD $93465,57 City of Sanger $31245.31 Total Due $14,181.16 Market Value $423512000 (According to Denton Central Appraisal District) .257 Acre our of Abstract 1241 of the Tierwester Survey, Tract 318, Old DCAD Tract 61, Sheet 2, City of Sanger, Denton County, Texas being that property more particularly described in Tract One in Volume 2797, Page 409 of the Deed Records, Denton County, Texas Whereas, the District Court of Denton County, Texas granted Judgment on March 2, 2007, in favor of the taxing jurisdictions of Denton County as follows: County of Denton $126.37 Sanger ISD $826.72 City of Sanger $283.48 Total Due $1,236.57 Market Value $4,498.00 (According to Denton Central Appraisal District) Whereas, said parcels of land were offered for sale on October 4, 2011, by the Sheriff of Denton County at public auction pursuant to judgment of the District Court of Denton County, Texas, for foreclosure of the tax liens securing payment of delinquent property taxes and accrued penalty and interest; and Whereas, said parcels of land did not receive sufficient bids as set by law and were struck off to the County of Denton, Trustee, in trust for itself, City of Sanger and Sanger Independent School District pursuant to Section 34.01 (c) Property Tax Code; and Whereas, the taxing units involved desire to resell said parcels of land in an expeditious manner pursuant to Section 34.05 Property Tax Code; and Wherefore, Be It Resolved that the City Council for the CITY OF SANGER does hereby authorize the Trustee to solicit from the public bids on the said parcel of land or to request that the Sheriff of Denton County sell this property pursuant to Section 34.05(c) Property Tax Code, and we do hereby consent to the sale of said parcel of land to the highest bidder even if the bid tendered is less than the market value of the land specified in the judgment of foreclosure or the total amount of the judgment against the property.
