21-95-Resolution-Supporting the expansion of DFW Recycling and Disposal Facility-01/02/1996A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
BANGER, SUPPORTING THE VERTICAL EXPANSION OF THE
DFW RECYCLING AND DISPOSAL FACILITY.
WHEREAS, DFW Recycling and Disposal Facility, a Division of Waste
Management of Texas, Inc. is developing the permit application for the
vertical expansion of the existing landfill to handle the future needs for solid
waste disposal for Sanger and the surrounding areas; and,
WHEREAS, DFW Recycling and Disposal Facility has been providing
reliable and environmentally safe landfill services to the City of Sanger for
nearly sixteen (16) years; and,
WHEREAS, Since approximately ten (1 ) years of landfill space is
remaining at the facility, the expansion would give the residents and
businesses of Sanger a facility to dispose of their solid waste for
approximately thirty (30) years; and,
WHEREAS, a vertical expansion of the DFW Recycling and Disposal
Facility will result in continued low rates for Sanger residents and
businesses by providing a local, economical, and environmentally
responsible means of solid waste disposal for the foreseeable future% and,
WHEREAS, if expanded, DFW Recycling and Disposal Facility will
continue to provide a positive economic impact for the City of Sanger.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF SANDER, TEXAS, THAT:
SECTION l: That the City Council of the City of Sanger, Texas, hereby
supports the development of the permit application far the vertical
expansion of the existing landfill to provide the future needs for solid waste
disposal for Sanger and the surrounding areas.
