A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF Sanger , TEXAS,
EXPRESSING APPROVAL BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF. Sander TO CONTINUE MEMBERSHIP UNDER THE NORTH
TEXAS REGIONAL LIBRARY SYSTEM AS A NONPROFIT
CORPORATION.
WHEREAS, the Library Systems Act, V.C.S. 5446a, was amended
by the 68th Texas Legislature to permit a major resource system
of public libraries to reorganize as a nonprofit corporation for
the purpose of administering the systems programs of service; and
WHEREAS, the Advisory Council of the North Texas Library
System, after careful study and deliberation, voted to reorganize
the North Texas Library System as a nonprofit corporation under
the Texas Non -Profit Corporation Act, as amended (Article
1396-1.01 et seq., Vernon's Texas Civil Statutes); and
WHEREAS, the Library System Act requires the approval of
two-thirds of the governing authorities of the member libraries
of the major resource system before the reorganization can occur;
WHEREAS, the reorganization of the North Texas Library
System as a nonprofit corporation was approved in 1985 by
two-thirds of the governing authorities of the member libraries
of the major resource system NY
NOW, THEREFORE, SE TT RESOLVED that the City Council of the
City of Sanger Texas concurs, that the Sanger Public
Library continue as a member of the North Texas Regional Library
System as a nonprofit corporation.
PASSED AND APPROVED at a Regular Meeting of the City Council
of the City of Sanaer , Texas, at which a quorum was
present, this 15 day of February 19920
