6-88-Resolution-Accepting the Water and Wastewater Study for a Regional Master Plan-06/06/1988v RESOLUTION 6-88 FOR ACCEPTANCE OF WATER AND WASTWATER STUDY REGIONAL MASTER PLAN FOR DENTON COUNTY WHEREAS, the Denton County Region has experienced considerable increase in population in recent years and is expected to continue to grow;and WHEREAS, an adequate and safe supply of drinking water is a fundamental necessity for life, and for the sound economic development of the region, and WHEREAS, collection and treatment of domestic and comercial wastes are vital public services that need -to be coordinated with the water system; and WHEREAS, most of the cities, towns and water utilities in Denton County organized a committee in 1986 to address water and wastewater needs on a cooperative basis; and WHEREAS, the(l) r lt, , f anPr participated in the Water Study Committee and cogntributed to the cost of the Study, and WHEREAS, the Texas Water Development Board awarded a matching grant to the City of Denton and the Committee to conduct the Study; and. WHEREAS, the engineering consulting firm of Espey, Huston & Associates, Inc, was retained to conduct the water and wastewater study, has completed the study, and has submitted a Master Plan Report dated March 1988; and I WHEREAS, the Texas Water Development Board has approved the Report; and WHEREAS,.. the Water Study Committee for the project has approved the Report and Master Plan, and has forwarded it to all participating agencies for official acceptance, and WHEREAS, the Upper Trinity Municipal Water Authority, Inc. has been created to begin implementation of the Master Plan pending creation of a permanent regional agency; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY:(2) The City of Sanger Section 1. That the Study Report, prepared by Espey, Huston & ASsoczates, Inc. under the direction of a Steering Committee composed of 25 participating agencies in Denton County, entitled Denton County Water and Wastewater Study Regional Master Plan for the Year 2010, is received and accepted. Section 2. That the(3) Mayor of Sanger is directed to evaluate the Report and Plan to recommend to (4) Sanger City Council how the (5) mr,P City. of Sanger can continue to participate in and benefit from proposed regional water and waste- water system.
